My journey into real estate began much earlier than most. At just 19 years old, I purchased my first home, a more-than-century-old property that I restored while still in college. That experience sparked a passion for real estate, one that combined history, creativity, and business.

Not long after, I set my sights on my first commercial investment: a tiny 450-square-foot building in the center of a small downtown. It was the smallest property in town, but it represented a big opportunity. At only 21 or 22, I found myself negotiating with a bank that had repossessed the building. They rejected my offer multiple times, but I refused to give up. Months later, persistence paid off. The bank returned to me, eager to move on, and sold the property for about a third of my original offer, a quarter of what they once wanted.

That moment taught me a valuable lesson: when you stick to something, the outcome often turns in your favor. From there, I restored the building, secured tenants, and began adding more properties, both commercial and residential, to my portfolio. Many were neglected, in disrepair, or in need of total rehabilitation. For me, that was the rewarding part: watching something broken transform into something vibrant again.

Over time, this passion grew into Donio Realty Company, a firm dedicated to real estate investment, development, rehabilitation, adaptive reuse, and management. What started with one small building has become a diverse and expanding portfolio that reflects both creativity and commitment.

Today, Donio Realty integrates technology at the highest level. In recent years, we’ve implemented advanced tools, including AI-driven apps and automation, to streamline nearly every aspect of our operations. These innovations have improved the tenant experience, simplified workflows, and even contributed to shaping new software solutions for the broader industry.

Our portfolio continues to grow, our team continues to expand, and even in a challenging economy, we see opportunity. Real estate has not only been a business for me but also a teacher, giving me hands-on education in law, accounting, insurance, title, and governance.
